The WL04 Lamp is a minimalist lamp by the Ghent-based designer and artisan, Boris Pellegroms. Entirely handcrafted in a choice of either brass or aluminum, the piece consists of a square box that conceals a hand-beaten bowl within its interior. When illuminated, the bowl glows like a half moon, transforming the lamp into a sculptural object that primarily uses light as a medium for atmosphere.

WL04 is available in various sizes and formats, ranging from a compact table version to larger, wall-mounted models, all featuring the same meticulous craftsmanship. Each surface bears the subtle variations of handwork: crisp edges that meet softly rounded lines, and small imperfections that enhance, rather than diminish its character. Dimmable and designed with both plug-in and hard-wired options, WL04 is adaptable yet deeply decorative, its primary function being to create intimacy and beauty through light rather than to illuminate a space.

As with all of Pellegroms’ works, WL04 reflects his fascination with the qualities of brass and aluminum, and the expressive potential of traditional craft. By shaping each element by hand, he imbues the piece with warmth and tactility—qualities that distinguish it from machine-made design.
