Alter is a minimal bench created by California-based designer Trevor Cheney. Alter is a bench which allows for customization of materiality. The inspiration was derived from typical trestle-like pews and benches found in churches. The connection and joinery of the bench is exposed visually to allow for an honest and understood connection point for the cushions. By allowing for cushions of different textures to be applied the bench easily transforms visually and texturally. A change of cushions makes Alter adaptable for many different environments.
