New Reflections is minimal collection created by New York-based designers Objects of Common Interest being displayed at Matter. New Reflections is an exploration of form that stems from a belief in the traditional tectonics of the ancient world. Translated in scale to fit our immediate surroundings, these exercises in Euclidean shapes perform a fleeting collage of geometric basics, creating the new out of the known. The result is an array of amalgamated forms in monolithic and composite execution, spanning through changing parameters in light, material, and form. The three object exercise displayed revolve around the familiar and everyday elements: stools, side tables, mirrors, and tableware.
