The Villa Avance is a minimalist space located in Seoul, South Korea, designed by Tumerics Archive. The layout of the cafe encourages patrons to become introspective, engaging them in the ritual of beverage preparation, the ambient interplay of light and music, and the act of conversation over drinks. The design incorporates elements of Korean domestic architecture and the ceremonial nuances of Korean tea traditions to enrich the customer’s experience. Spatially, the cafe is divided into distinct zones: the first floor serves as the drink preparation area, while the second and third floors are dedicated to customer seating, ensuring a tranquil environment. The interior palette is calming, with white oak veneer, warm white walls, and natural gray hues, all chosen to soothe the eyes and allow customers to focus on the sensory pleasures of their beverages and companionship.
