House Overlooking the Sea is a minimalist beach house located in Okinawa, Japan, designed by CLAIR archi lab. As the name suggests, the site has sprawling views of the ocean from the East, about 500 meters away. Therefore, the architects wanted to take advantage of the great location, and capture as much of the view as possible. The result is a mainly blank frontage, with large openings and glazings located toward the rear of the building. Extended concrete walls provide privacy from both neighbors and residents within, without blocking the view of the ocean.
