Flip is a minimalist stool created by Tokyo-based designer Shinya Oguchi. Stools should be practical but also it would be an art piece which can be an accent in a room. It not just sit down on it, but it should have a presence. The stool is combined two types of slanted wood boards which makes a shade on a surface. The moderate angle is good for the sitting feeling on top, at side, it makes the side look will be thinner than reality is. And at bottom, there is a leg of the stool. The two assembled boards are connected with the tiny butterfly keys and it becomes the stool. The butterfly keys are important structure of the stool but also it is an accent in this design. Lastly, the edges are applied a curved surface for showing the softness.
