Marfa Chair is a minimalist chair created by Providence-based designers Ben & Aja Blanc. The Marfa chair is made from solid rift white oak and inlaid with Australian short-cut curly shearling. The side chair can be purchased as a “right facing” or “left facing” version, with one side open and the other closed (see images). The short-cut shearling is purposely chosen for its warm density and texture and partnered with the solidity of white oak; highlighting the inherent beauty of these materials through contrary qualities. The Marfa chair pays homage to the geometric proportions of Donald Judd and surrealism of Meret Oppenheim.
