The Whitby Hotel is a boutique hotel located in midtown New York with the architecture designed by Stonehill Taylor, and interior designed by Kit Kemp. Just two blocks from Central Park, the hotel is a short distance from some of the city’s best galleries and museums, most notably MoMA. Kemp’s signature design style, which has been translated throughout all of her Firmdale Hotels, indulges in colorful tones, carefree accents, and an ever-evolving mix of works by contemporary and emerging artists along with furniture designs by Kit, antiques, and vintage finds. Most notable is the versatile styling of each of the 86 guest bedrooms and suites, all of which are glorified with floor to ceiling windows framing the Manhattan skyline. The hotel includes a refined bar and restaurant along with a book-lined Drawing Room, private outdoor terrace as well as three private event rooms. The hidden gem of the space is a 130 seat state-of-the-art cinema, aptly named The Whitby Theater.
