Artifact is a minimalist space located in Milan, Italy, designed by Gonzalez Haase AAS. The space opens up to an exhibition of unique objects and art, curated by KALEIDOSCOPE. After hosting exhibitions by emerging artists such as Darja Bajagić, Timur Si-Qin, Anna Uddenberg and Korakrit Arunanondchai; public talks by cultural innovators like Virgil Abloh and Arthur Jafa; and presentations by avant-garde fashion brands such as Telfar, Cav Empt and Aries, Spazio Maiocchi now embarks on a new long-term project, proposing a new and more dynamic role for today’s cultural institutions. The display, designed by Berlin-based architecture firm Gonzales—Haase, centers on a minimalistic display structure inspired by classification and museography. With an emphasis on perspective, transparency and modularity, the steel grid display recalls a scaffolding system or a server room, halfway between sheer function and artificial intelligence. This core concept is furthered by a modular visual identity designed by art direction studio Bureau Mirko Borsche.
