One Table is a minimalist coffee table designed by Seoul-based studio Atelier Sohn. Minimum material usage and minimum making process create unexpected shape and new functionality. The designer wanted to pursue aesthetic and functional aspect of art furniture with minimum material waste. First, a square metal sheet is divided into three parts and then two of them are bent with the same curvature line. Lastly, the top portion is welded with two bent parts to be crossed over each other in a 90 degree angle. In this way, the production process is completed in just three step: laser cut, bending, and welding. All materials are used without waste. The crossed two bottom portions with U-shape curves make the viewer feel balance and tension simultaneously.
