Residence in Takariya is a minimal home located in Toyama, Japan, designed by Nakasai Architects. The site is located on a corner lot within a quiet residential neighborhood with a beautiful surrounding environment. The owner wanted the exterior to be a shabby chic material with the appearance of a mortar finish. Part of the building is extended outward to form covered parking. An interior courtyard is surrounded by glass, and features an upright piano isolated from the rest of the home.
