Umbrella House is a minimalist house located in Fukushima, Japan, designed by Life Style Koubou. The clients were seeking a home with an expansive ceiling, such as the spread of a large umbrella that moves with the wind. The residents also wanted a simple and traditional layout, thus the space consists mainly of wood with the kitchen counter comprised of wood as well. A balcony on the upper level is obscured by a series of wooden beams.
