Axis is a minimal trolley created by Madrid-based designer Omayra Maymó for Kristina Dam Studio. Axis, a trolley designed with an unconventional approach, defies the norm by prioritizing stability and craftsmanship over mobility. While most trolleys emphasize portability and visual lightness, Axis presents itself as a solid piece of furniture that can be easily relocated when necessary, recognizing that trolleys typically remain stationary for most of their lifespan. The designer employs asymmetry to strike a balance between openness and concealment, culminating in a minimal yet architectural composition. Subtle details become apparent upon closer examination. Axis, constructed entirely of solid oak, is a thoughtfully crafted statement piece that highlights the natural warmth of wood through its distinctive design, exuding a timeless appeal.
