Bar-Lock Chest Table is a minimalist furniture piece created by Japan-based designer Royusuke Harashima. After graduating from the Kanazawa International Design Institution (KIDI) in 2002, he studied product and furniture design at Parsons The New School for Design in New York City in 2003. The purpose of the piece was to create pieces that would change peoples’ attitudes towards traditional Japanese tools and antiquities. The result is an amalgamation between the old and the new, with the utilization of deep textures mixed with brass and glass.
