Betula is a minimal furniture collection created by Sweden-based designer Martin Thübeck. The collection consists of a dresser and chair with the structures constructed of timber slats. Martin created the collection using the discarded pieces of birch that had already been formed into slats. By using the wasted joint, he wanted to create furniture that would utilize these pieces as building blocks – creating a number of possibilities. The style of design used for the woodwork projects has been influenced by the use of recycled materials as much as possible. This allows for both economic and sustainable design.
