Burn Bench is a minimal bench designed by France-based studio PERRON et FRERES. Burn Bench is made from a single oak beam that had been preserved within the studio’s workshop. The studio wanted to focus on a project that would require time and a handmade function. The beam was cut into three pieces, and the feet are assembled to the seating part with a cross lap joint, and secured by a locking key. It is then finished with the Shou Sugi Ban burning technique, protecting it from the weather, insects or flames.
