Cadeira is a minimalist chair created designed by Lisbon-based studio MACHEIA. The chair’s design centers on the fundamental idea that all spirals originate from a single point, symbolically represented by a hand. This concept is emphasized through a metal backrest, organically shaped to mimic the imprint of a hand, marking the starting point of the chair’s structure. The chair features metal elements rhythmically arranged, their placement dictated by the stitching technique employed in its construction. This method is presented in a raw, unembellished form, which underscores its natural, plant-like qualities, enhancing the chair’s identity and connecting it more deeply with its organic inspirations.
