Even Sofa is a minimal modular sofa designed by Stockholm-based studio Afteroom for COMMON. The original idea of the Even Sofa was inspired by Tatami – the traditional Japanese floor mat; its number of blocks is a typical unit for calculating the floor area. Based on the concept of this traditional standardised arrangement, a modular Even Sofa collection is realised – the square sofa block that can be extended to meet the needs of various spaces. By using wood as the base material in combination with the wool cushions, it creates a fairly stable and calm atmosphere, bringing a sense of visual solidity along with warm touch to the space. Upholstery fabric: Kvadrat – Divina 3 by Finn Skødt, composition 100% New wool. Frame base: Oak veneer. Different configurations, painted frames or other fabric types are also possible.
