KHOKHAR K2405 is a minimalist side table by the Jaipur-based design practice Studio Raw Material. Part of their Khokar series, the piece continues the studio’s exploration of stone fragments as sculptural furniture, drawing inspiration from assemblages of discarded offcuts scattered across the Makrana landscape.

Made from yellow marble fragments and red oxide marble, the K2405 side table exemplifies the studio’s additive approach to stonework, where elements are stacked and composed as opposed to carved away. Two halved, textured cylindrical pillars serve as the table’s legs, balanced by a brick-like cube set between them. Resting atop is a circular marble surface accented by an irregular stone fragment, a composition that juxtaposes raw, unfinished edges with the precision of a perfect circle.

The result is a table that feels both architectural and organic. Its fragmented forms seem to puzzle together while simultaneously resisting completion, evoking the ever-eroding landscape from which its materials are gathered. Each fragment carries the patina of its past life in architectural sites, presented not as blemishes but as embodied histories of material and place.

K2405 reflects Studio Raw Material’s ethos of working with overlooked matter to uncover new narratives of design. By reassembling waste into sculptural and functional objects, the studio challenges notions of permanence and value, engaging with design as a practice deeply rooted in its local terrain.
