The Peter Zumthor collection is a reconstitution of furniture accumulated over fifty years, designed and produced specifically for the architectural projects of Swiss architect Peter Zumthor and his atelier. The furniture collection is now being produced by Time & Style, realized by materials and manufacturing techniques from Japan. Time & Style designs and produces several kinds of daily life tools, such as furniture, lamps, tableware, and towels. The design concepts and manufacturing are a contemporary evolution of traditional Japanese craftsmanship, highlighting the long-lasting beauty and solid wood’s tactile qualities. Time & Style Factory, surrounded by the beautiful forests of Asahikawa, on the northmost island of Hokkaido, carries out all furniture manufacturing processes from log purchasing to lumbering, drying, woodcutting, wood assembly, polishing, and finishing. The use of machinery is kept to a minimum, and products are manufactured by hand by craftsmen as much as possible, taking time to finish without compromise.

Time & Style is honored to announce its newest furniture collection by the Swiss architect Peter Zumthor this March in 2022 – the Peter Zumthor collection. It will be introduced to the world in June through the Time & Style exhibition at Salone del Mobile. The collection is a selection and reconstitution of furniture accumulated over fifty years, designed specifically for the architectural projects by him and his atelier. It is produced by Time & Style using original techniques and materials. The product collection consists of five series, and it is the world’s first collection by Peter Zumthor. He creates furniture as part of the architecture. He does not design furniture indi- vidually or commercially. His furniture is intertwined with the architectural narra- tive, and thus is a fragment of the universality of his works. Time & Style entrusted by Peter Zumthor creates the collection using accumulat- ed techniques and materials from Japan. We believe it has chemistry with his concept of creating authentic and universal architecture that transcends time.
