Petra is a minimal dining table designed by Mexico-based studio Peca. The studio wanted to honor the materiality of volcanic rock with a table/sculpture whose rich, porous top sits on top of three cilindrical monoliths born from the whims of Mexico’s volcanic terrain. Etched lines run through the surface of Petra’s top, guiding the eye towards the three soft and inviting polished discs that flow from the monoliths underneath, telling the story of their origin. Petra calls to the mysteries of nature and their sacred play in our day to day lives and pleasures.
