Wakufuru is a minimal family of tables and benches created by Sweden-based designer Johan Kauppi for Glimakra. The collection is a system of tables and benches which bring together sound absorption and solid wood in an innovative way. The unique corner construction of the furniture creates a consistent system where all table and bench units are produced in exactly the same way, regardless of size or height. Hidden under each furniture is an effective sound absorption pad, structured in several layers. The rounded tables and benches are produced in ash with the frame recessed into round wooden legs. The top is veneered in MDF. Underneath, a hidden acoustic filling consists of felt, perforated board, foam, and an air gap for the best possible sound absorption.
