Borden Residence is a minimal home located in Toronto, Canada, designed by StudioAC. The three-story renovation is situated on a narrow lot, which compelled the architects to emphasize the tall ceilings to visually expand the space. The designers wanted to maintain an intimate setting, thus extended the flooring material to a counter-height wrap along the walls to instill a feeling of being nestled in. These wooden walls also serve as concealed storage, with one section of the home utilizing the wooden perimeter as cabinetry for the kitchen in one section, and form the fireplace in the next, all within a single length.
