Haus Nowhere is minimalist space located in Seoul, South Korea, with custom furniture pieces designed by Tim Teven Studio. This custom series for Gentle Monster headquarters and affiliated brands Tamburins, Atiisu, Nudake, and Nuflaat demonstrates how sculptural experimental design language can meet large-scale office environment functional demands. The project developed in collaboration with Gentle Monster’s in-house design team within new IICOMBINED and The System Lab structure spans seven office floors including bespoke desks, modular storage units, and meeting tables.
The design approach merges Tim Teven’s expressive studio identity with pragmatic office space needs, creating furniture feeling special and tactile yet working effortlessly in corporate environments. This balance between artistic craftsmanship and workplace functionality manifests through hand-crafted detail-rich pieces integrating practical features including cable channels, adjustable shelves, and storage drawers supporting daily collaborative setting use. The implementation demonstrates how furniture with strong material and aesthetic character can deploy across entire headquarters while retaining individuality.
The adaptation of artisanal methods to scalable production reflects contemporary furniture design challenges where unique design vision must accommodate large quantities without sacrificing essential character. This production strategy requires careful coordination between hand-finishing techniques contributing distinctive qualities and standardized components enabling efficient manufacturing and installation across multiple floors.
