Morton Street is a minimal apartment located in New York, New York, designed by Westbourne Studio. Upon entry, a custom-built floating console, meticulously crafted from bird’s-eye maple, sets the welcoming tone. It houses a ceramic piece by Barry Canter and rustic wooden bowls, a fascinating blend of the traditional and contemporary. Above it hangs a Clement Pascal photograph, and a stool by Charlotte Perriand tastefully anchors the arrangement. The dining area strikes a harmony between artistry and function. At its heart is a white-oak table, a unique piece commissioned from Rob Pluhowski. Black Capitol Complex chairs, originally a Pierre Jeanneret design, surround the table. Complementing this ensemble is a brass light fixture by Apparatus Studio, its exterior gracefully draped in suede.

The space employs a color palette of oak, brass, and black, artfully integrated with a mid-century walnut console for storing the couple’s vinyl collection. Twin pendants, crafted from blackened brass and walnut by Allied Maker, mirror the kitchen’s distinct aesthetic. This kitchen, masterfully executed by Poliform with metalwork by Amuneal, features a central island crowned with a stone slab and brass inlay detailing. Summer Studio Design’s counter stools complete the inviting atmosphere. The dwelling’s open plan design promotes interaction between the dining area, kitchen, and living room. Comfort is prioritized with an Adrian Pearsal vintage sofa, an Eisler and Hauner lounge chair, and a stone coffee table by Axel Vervoordt. Custom oak shelves, recessed into the wall, host a collection of books and ceramics by Brent Friberg and Gunnar Nyland, adding an element of personal touch.
