Pen y Lan Road is a minimal home located in Cardiff, United Kingdom, designed by Benjamin Hale. Benjamin Hale design homes of timelessness and permanence that originate out of a detailed understanding of modern living. A new project by Benjamin Hale Architects to the rear of a Victorian house in Cardiff has created a unique, calm living space, unlocking what was previously a problematic configuration of rooms. The extension for the owner of a Welsh clothing label, creates a new space for preparing food and an opening cut into the existing wall connects the kitchen to a new larger dining area, unifying the entire living space. Emphasis was also placed on reconnecting the internal spaces to the garden via a picture window and a set of bespoke timber folding doors, which seamlessly blur the lines between inside and out.
