Tribeca Retreat is a minimalist apartment located in New York, New York, designed by Monomid. The design concept draws inspiration from the enduring appeal of mid-century modern design while smoothly integrating industrial architectural details. The objective was to find a sweet spot between warmth and sophistication, offering a stylish and cozy space. The client’s vision was clear—create a cozy oasis in the heart of the bustling city without sacrificing chic aesthetics. They specifically requested the incorporation of mid-century modern elements, harmoniously merging them with the apartment’s existing industrial features.

At the heart of the living space sits the luxurious Arflex Marenco sofa, draped in dark charcoal upholstery. It dominates the room, enveloping you in comfort. Complementing this plush centerpiece is the carefully selected &Tradition Boomerang Lounge Chair. Strategically positioned, it introduces a structural element that balances the softness of the sofa. Together, they strike a perfect equilibrium where comfort meets clean lines, a hallmark of mid-century modern design. In the dining area, the Arflex marble dining table takes center stage. Its sleek surface, adorned with subtle veins, exudes sophistication and luxury. This marble masterpiece bridges the cozy living space with the sleek lines of mid-century modern design.

Around this opulent table, you’ll find the Karakter Principal Dining Chairs. Upholstered in rich leather with wooden accents, they elevate the dining experience. The combination of leather and wood adds a touch of warmth to the area, enhancing both comfort and the overall aesthetic. In the living room, the Mod 265 wall lamp by Paolo Rizzatto takes center stage. This swing arm lamp is a masterpiece of mid-century-inspired design, providing both style and function. Moving to the dining room, the Model 2065 pendant by Gino Sarfatti is an elegant presence. It doesn’t just illuminate; it’s a statement piece that hovers gracefully above the Arflex marble dining table.
