The Armitage Collection is a minimalist lighting collection by the London-based architect and designer, Joe Armitage. The series of lights brings new life to a 1952 floor lamp originally designed by Armitage’s grandfather, the architect Edward Armitage, during his time working in India. Generations later, the Armitage Collection expands the original design into a family of table, suspension, and wall lamps that share a unified language.
Each piece is defined by a clean conical shade and the collection’s signature carved walnut tail, supported by either a minimal tripod structure or a refined, slender armature depending on the format. A newly developed shade material, engineered in Switzerland from recycled water bottles. introduces a contemporary layer of sustainability while producing a warm, inviting glow.
Balancing heritage and innovation, the Armitage Collection translates a historic design into contemporary lighting that feels sculptural yet approachable, functional yet atmospheric. It is a thoughtful continuation of a family legacy, rooted in architecture and reimagined for today.
