Brick Lamp is a minimalist design created by York-based designer HCWDstudio. This updated version of Brick Lamp is based on our original concept and prototype in 2010. The original idea of this project is to make people aware of the moment of concealing and revealing light. To make it a functional lamp, instead of a switch, light is activated when raised(on) or laid flat(off). Also by creating the side facets, a natural handle is made which also directs the light when the brick sits on it’s side.Brick Lamp is powered by led panel light and rechargeable built-in lithium-ion battery with USB charging port. It can be easily hooked up to almost any power source. Three different materials are available which are aluminum, cast concrete, and solid wood.
