All Day Place Shibuya is a minimal boutique hotel located in Tokyo, Japan, designed by DDAA Inc. The architect wanted to create a space where the content of the first floor of the hotel protrudes outside, and where the activities also seep out of the premises. Rather than setting up a large entrance for the hotel, the studio wanted a variety and freedom of use, so they proposed making the front more open. Originally, the exterior of the first floor was planned mainly as a flow line to the hotel reception, but they have placed as many benches and flower beds as possible to take advantage of the steps on the slope. The designer wanted the same continuous material from the outside to the inside, so they proposed tiles from the perspective of materials that can be used both indoors and outdoors.
