No Vacancy is a boutique hotel located in Kansas City, Missouri, designed by Spencer Sight. The property encapsulates a philosophy that combines the elements of design and hospitality. Each assignment viewed as a canvas of potentiality, seeking to unveil latent promise, and to craft spaces that both comfort and serve. The construction journey that stretched over two years was marked by a careful amassing of furniture pieces, both modern and vintage, ultimately destined to grace the rooms. The project stands as a testament to the principle that the individual components invariably shape the wholeness of the design, resulting in a continuously evolving aesthetic.

The project brought together a diverse range of local creatives, blending their skills in graphic design, hand-painted signage, mural creation, photography, videography, and woodworking. A truly collective effort, “No Vacancy” has transitioned from a collaborative project to a shared experience that warmly welcomes its visitors. Features of the project, studios 1, 3, and 6, are equipped with compact kitchenettes including modern conveniences such as a microwave, electric kettle, sink, and a mini fridge. The consideration of comfort and usability continues to be apparent in the thoughtful additions to each room. Swift WiFi connectivity, fresh linens, towels, blackout blinds, and bathroom essentials such as hair dryers, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are made readily accessible to the occupants.
