Barebones Studio is a minimalist office located in Singapore, designed by Barebones Studio. This project exemplifies the studio’s core design principles, marrying simple yet honest materials and sleek design lines with a modern twist. The outcome is a space that boasts a refined, masculine sophistication while maintaining a relaxed and minimal charm for its occupants. The studio cleverly integrates functionality into its design with features like a steel display shelf that serves dual purposes as storage and workspace enhancement. A discreetly positioned pantry area, complete with vegetation, houses a bar fridge and a printer within custom-made cabinetry, blending practicality with aesthetic appeal. Near a window, a comfortable seating area provides a spot for relaxation and a view of Joo Chiat’s dynamic streetscape. Sustainability is a key focus for the studio, evident in its thoughtful selection of natural materials such as cement, pebble wash, steel, sandstone tiles, teak, and birch plywood. These choices reflect Barebones Studio’s design philosophy and create a cohesive, textured, and visually engaging environment. The predominantly monochromatic scheme is warmed by strategic artificial lighting, adding a cozy atmosphere to the space.
