Drum is a minimalist lamp designed by London-based studio Minimalux. The Drum features a cylindrical form made up of two identical tubes each measuring 10cm in diameter. Adding to its adaptability, the lamp’s shade can rotate a full 360 degrees, introducing a design feature that is as practical as it is aesthetic. Housed within the shade is an LED light source, encased in an opal diffuser. This allows the Drum to emit a warm glow from its open ends, serving as a source of both task and ambient lighting. The lamp’s construction is a testament to Minimalux’s commitment to sustainability, as it is partially fabricated from recycled aluminum. In keeping with the brand’s refined aesthetic, Drum is available in two sizes and offers a subtly textured finish. Customers can choose from matte black or matte white variants, each complemented by solid brass accents. An interesting design detail is found in the taller section of the lamp, where an inset surface is recessed 20mm from the top, mirroring the chosen matte finish of the lamp’s body. The base, cleverly hidden, is crafted from cork – a sustainable, yet elegant solution. The Drum is not only stylish but also versatile, making it an ideal accessory for a bedside table, office desk or bookshelf.
