The New Old Vase is a minimalist design created by Taiwan-based designer KIMU Design. The New Old Vase disassociates itself from traditional flower vases by having an inherent volume, leaving only a linear structure that blurs the cultural imagery of traditional vases. By positioning a receptacle redesigned from wood, it transforms the cultural imagery of the object. When placing the wooden flower ware on top of a linear framework, flowers and plants are free to unfold. When the wooden flower ware is moved to the bottom of the linear framework, a miniature world of the plants is seen.
